Jesus Was An Airborne Ranger

Jesus Was An Airborne Ranger

by John McDougall

I have to say this is not normally a book I would read, I chose to review it because my dear hubby seen it in a CBD magazine and was very interested in this book. Growing up the picture of Jesus that was portrayed to me was a very gentle and meek man that journeyed thru life to save us from our sins. This book takes a deeper look at Jesus Christ, it looks at the spiritual battle that is going on unseen by us. He was more than just a teacher, he was fighting a battle for us by choosing to come down to earth and take our sins on his shoulders. Jesus came down to do a global rescue mission to rescue the lost.

If you are searching for your purpose in life, check this book out it will make you take a second look at what you thought was a meek and mild faith.

A great big thank you to Blogging for Books for this book for free in exchange for a review.

The Creole Princess

The Creole Princess (The Gulf Coast Chronicles) by Beth White

Lyse Lanier may be French thru her heritage, but her best friend is the daughter of the British commander of Mobile. Their time spent together has created a close bond between them, even though Daisy is in love with Lyse’s brother. One day when a very charming young Spanish merchant arrives at the docks and sweeps Lyse off her feet with his wit and flair.  The American Conflict moves closer to Mobile, it comes time for Lyse ‘s family to make a choice to choose to side with the British or the American side. She wonders who Rafael Gonzalez truly is, is he truly a merchant or is he a spy for the Revolution. Is he someone she can trust to protect her and her family from the danger to come as the conflict grows.

Beth White takes the reader deep into the world of a little known part of the American Revolutionary war. She writes with so much spectacular detail that you almost feel like that you are right there with the characters.

Modesty=Jewel

Modesty is very much dying art in our culture, everywhere we turn we are exposed to more flesh than at times we want to see. Our little girls are being taught to dress older than their actual age. The teenage girls are going to school and feeling pressure if they do not dress sexy enough. But then at the same time we are wondering why there has been more reports of rapes and children being hurt.

My dear hubby gave me a view from a mans perspective: Two women walk into  a club: the first women is dressed very modestly and very tasteful while the second women has T&A hanging out. The first woman is going to be seen as a Jewel in the eyes of men something precious to be protected. While the second woman has basically hung out an invisible sign saying” free for the taking”.

We women that chose to dress modestly are sometimes trying to cover up everything. When actually our bodies are a present to be unwrapped carefully by our husbands. By dressing modestly we are preserving ourselves as a jewel and treating our bodies as we are supposed too.  Dressing sexy does have it’s place in our marriage, it just can be done very tastefully when out of the bedroom. We do not need to put our body on display for all to see to be sexy for our husbands.

By dressing modestly we are treating our bodies as a jewel and not something to be used and thrown away. All of us women and girls are precious jewels, beauties that are very much precious in His eyes.

Wounded Couple!!

My marriage has not been a perfect one, we have hit so many ruts and boulders that we are a wounded couple. There was days that we both thought we was headed for the “D” word. Also my dear hubby even chose to find someone else to confide in and to possibly be his new wife. We have met with many pastors and just seemed to not be able to get anywhere with them. I have been told by a couple pastor’s wives to leave my husband. This was very much a shock to me being raised in the church and been taught that the “D” word was not an option. It was hard for me to reach out to others, so I chose to not talk about what was going on in our marriage for a long while. Now is the time to come clean to say I am not the perfect wife and I do not have the perfect marriage. But here is what I have to say the “D” word is not in my marriage vocabulary. I have made a choice to make a stand by my husband thru thick and the thin, sickness and health, till death do us part. Also I have made a choice to become a better wife for him, to show him that love does heal wounds.

Kanae was a young lady brought up in two very diverse cultures, who also struggled with insecurities of her own. Having dated off and on, she knew what she was looking for in a husband, but never thought she would meet her husband at a ministry event.

“A Valentine’s Day thought” What is Love to you?

What is Love????

Today is a day that love is shown in many ways to the ones we love the most. As we go about buying flowers, chocolates and a card just to say I Love you, it raises a question in mind What is Love to you??

Growing up love to me was romance, flowers, sweet words whispered in my ear by a handsome boy. As a  young adult I dreamed of being married to my prince charming who would sweep me off my feet and carry me off to my dream house. But when reality hit me smack in the face, it was a shock to me that my prince was not what I dreamed he would be. My prince was a flawed human as much as I was, we both had problems that we needed to work on to become a better mate. for each other.

Those flaws and mistakes in our marriage caused alot of hurt and pain in my life. There have been days I have cried my heart out just wanting to be loved and held by my hubby. Wanting my hubby to surprise me with something special, like flowers and chocolates, longing for some romance in my marriage. All the time I was thinking of myself, but not seeing that my hubby was struggling at the same time.

It was after seeing my dear hubby placed in an ambulance for a stroke that I realized I needed to take a deeper look at things. It wasn’t that I didn’t love my hubby,  I just wasn’t able to see what I had in front of me.  I needed to love my hubby like Christ loved us, sacrificing what I wanted in our marriage to show my hubby that he was the most precious thing in my life. No matter what happens in our health, he will be the one that was given to me by our Heavenly Father to love .

My dear hubby forgets about special things like getting a valentine’s gift for me, but love tells me to not hold a grudge and just love my hubby for what he does do for me. Like he tries his best to cook supper for me when I work late or goes looking for the best price on a item I am very interested in.

I have learned Love fights for healing in a broken marriage. It takes a stand for what is right and stands up for the innocent and does not care if they are noticed for what they do. It takes a chance  and can see what we can’t see, that there is hope out there for all of us. Love also wraps their arms around the unwanted and shows them that they are special too. Love is truly a sacrifice, giving up what you want to show the other person that they are very much precious to u.

One of my favorite songs right now is The Proof of your Love by For King and Country. It says  “If we don’t love we have not gotten anywhere.”

Love to me is seeing my husband smiling when I make him something he likes to eat. What is love to you???
